According to the source, four poeple who were accused of spreading pornographic photo through the cellphone will face ten years' imprisonment or life imprisonment. It is said that these people used their cellphones to upload 25 pornographic photos on the internet and the clicks ratio once reached 250000 times.

When the news came out, some people said that the sentence was too severe. However, some other guys said that they deserved the harsh sentence. What do you think?

China has a right to establish her own laws.

Most Americans would cry that this is a violation of free speech and as such should not be considered a crime.

I've watched my country decay during my lifetime by attempting to justify all sorts of bad behavior as a constitutional right. So while this is a harsh punishment, it is China's designated punishment.

The ghetto lingo for this is: "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Perhaps, the government just wants to punish them as a warning to others. Edison Chen's sex photo scandal hasn't finished and some people still spread these photos on the internet. If they hear of the news, they won't spread the photos widely on the internet.

Personally, I think the punishment is too harsh. It is said that the judge has made the sentence according to the clicks rate. High clicks rate means that more people have watched these photos. That is why they were punished severely. However, being clicked 250000 times doesn't mean that 250000 people have watched these photos. It is possible that the same photo has been clicked by the same person many times.

Shouldn’t they have punished the original uploader? No scandalous pictures would be circulating if not for the original offender. Besides, there are more than 4 people who did the same thing. So, should they also go after those people who made clicks and count how many clicks they made? LOL! They might as well turn a whole city into jail. O_o

So what punishment will they give to someone who uploaded the pictures and got download hits of 8,000,000? Oh, they can’t punish them because the uploader lives in another country. Ooops…too late. :-P

If they go after those who clicked these photos, I guess that the jail can't accommodate these criminals.
