![]() | With the prices of food surging, the oil prices also made a new high yesterday. “Nymex West Texas Intermediate for May delivery rose as high as $113.93 a barrel during the day, while the May Brent contract touched $112.08 a barrel, also a record.” FT reported. On the other hand, global food crisis was escalating. Indonesia, one of the largest wheat exporters stopped its farmers to sell grains abroad. The rice prices hit a new record yesterday. It is estimated that more food exporting countries might stop their exports since they are facing higher demand from those food importing countries. It seems that the situation becomes more intensive. To solve the problem, how about producing genetically modified food? Will you take GM food? |

![]() | I'm having mixed feelings as to whether the higher price of oil is based upon supply and demand economic model or if it's nothing but a farce. It's so easy for the numbers to be manipulated to justify the higher prices .Possibly, the oil producers know that China and India are going to consume energy (oil?) more and are increasing the prices ahead of future demand, or more use of solar and wind power may possibly decrease the demand for oil so they are going to increase the price anyway and get what they can (revenues) before demand decreases. Genetically modified foods? I've heard good and bad about it. The Good....could be pest and drought resistant. The Bad.....Has it been thoroughly teated for human consumption and some corporations are trying to monopolize GM food.(cannot use seeds for replanting?) |

![]() | The way I see it, the problem is not a shortage of food, but simply too many people on the planet. We should kill a few (about 40%), and then many problems would be solved in one simple move. We should start with ugly people, and those with bad taste in music. Actually, that would be about 70%, so there's no need to continue with the list! |

![]() | Ok good! So "geedy dogs" would indicate all Americans. Anyone who likes "hard rock" would indicate people who dress in too much black leather and have silly hair and tattoos. And "gorillas with big appetites" would rule out fat people, so back to the Americans again! However, they are already dead (because we killed them for being greedy dogs), so we would have to look at females in West Africa, Italy, and Greece, and males in certain Arabic countries, and sumo wrestlers. Great - we are getting there. Together we can fix the world! |

GUEST80200 ![]() | Oil prices - supply & demand 10%, farce 90%. Gasoline prices are offset a little by oil and nat gas investments but not by much. |

![]() | The removal of ugly people, people with bad taste in music, gorillas with big appetites, greedy dogs. It's the start of the "New World Order" with a different scenario. |
