Hi
I will be free from 8 Feb to 15 Feb but have to remain in Beijing. Are there any celebrations held in Beijing? Places I can visit and join in the festive mood?

Find some interesting pics from this site:

You may see some folk-costum activities during the Luner New Year.

Thanks Jasmine. Maybe I will also participate in a Miao Hui. What do beijingers usually do after their reunion dinner? Are there any outdoor celebrations or countdowns?

guess no public countdowns except in TV. It is a time for family gathering.
I suggest teple fair(miaohui) and Peking Opera.
