GUEST53152 I've been to neither but have friends and family who have visited both....I think Spain is worth mentioning in terms of the regionalism and cultural diversity within the country like China. Regional identities are very strong in Spain like with the Catalans (around Barcelona), Andalusians, Castilians, Basques, etc etc and Spain has many autonomous regions. Also how many people refer to Mandarin as "Chinese" even though there are other dialects like Cantonese in China....its similar how what we call Spanish is really Castilian from the area around Madrid and nobody in Spain really refers to it as "Spanish".
