guest5123	Which is the correct way to pay the bill after dining? An article says that we should call the waitor or waitress when they pass by us and tell them that you want to pay the bill. If the waitor or waitress is a bit far from you, you should wait for a while until they pass by you. It also says that women shouldn't pay the bill on their own. Even you treat him or go dutch with him, you should give the money to the man and let him pay the bill. Otherwise, other guests at the restaurant might think that the relationship between you and him is abnormal. On the other hand, you shouldn't swing your money in the air and call the waitor or waitress loudly when you pay the bill. This is quite impolite. And you shouldn't go to the reception desk to pay the bill, this is rude. Should I do as the article says or I have to abide by some other rules?

Try to catch they eye of your waiter or waitress. This may mean holding your index finger up a finger up as the server looks at you. You can also ask a busboy who will tell your server..
In general, in taking the orders, the waiter will know who to give the check to unless separate checks are asked for. Most times the server will leave the bill on the table and whoever will pay picks it up. It does not matter to the server who is paying as long as they get their tip.
In a social setting if one pays the bill, the other will offer to leave the tip. However when a man is treating a lady, he will leave the tip as well as paying the bill.
Other patrons of the restaurant will not be paying any attention to who is paying at the table next to them. it is none of their business.
