Divorce rate in China is keeping rising. According to BBC, the divorce rate in 2007 has increased by 20 percent compared with 2006. After divorce, division of property is the key issue. There are many people who divorce with their husbands or wives but still live with them in the same house. Why do they find a new house? Because they are too poor to buy a new one. Sometimes, they quarrel with each other as before. Mostly, they live separately. Every month, they pay the rent to their ex husbands or wives. If their ex husbands or wives have found their new life partners, "where to live" will become a big problem for them.

How sad it is! What do you think of this phenomenon?

I think that arrangement is very dangerous. Have you watched the movie Sleeping with the Enemy?

Sleeping with the Enemy? What is it about, SHESGOTTOBE?

If you divorce, just separate from each other. Staying together will bring you many troubles. If you bring your new bf or gf back home, he/she will be quite upset. Why do they live together? Are they waiting for remarrying again?

Here it is, JimmyB:

Movie: Sleeping with the Enemy
Cast: Julia Roberts, Patrick Bergin

Tagline: She is a stranger in a small town. She changed her name. Her looks. Her life. All to escape the most dangerous man she's ever met. Her husband.

Synopsis 1: Laura and Martin have been married for four years. They seem to be the perfect, happiest and most successful couple. The reality of their house-hold, however, is very different. Martin is an abusive and brutally obsessed husband. Laura is living her life in constant fear and waits for a chance to escape. She finally stages her own death, and flees to a new town and new identity. But when Martin finds out that his wife is not dead he will stop at nothing to find and kill her.

Synopsis 2: Laura's life with her handsome and successful husband seems perfect to those looking at it from the outside. But behind closed doors, Laura resides in a personal hell. Her husband is a psychotic, controlling perfectionist, and his escalating emotional and physical abuse eventually leads the desperate Laura to plot her escape. One stormy night she leaps from the bow of her husband's sailboat and swims for shore. She secretly took swimming lessons at the local YMCA so her husband wasn't aware that she could swim. Her husband initially believes that she drowned; meanwhile, Laura "resurfaces" in a college town in Iowa. Attempting to rebuild her shattered life, Laura changes her name, takes a new job in the campus library, and makes friends with a sensitive and sweet drama teacher. But this happiness proves to be ephemeral when her crazed husband gets wise to the deception and turns up in the Midwest determined to bring his wife back home -- whatever it takes.

Thanks, SHESGOTTOBE. It reminds me of a Chinese TV play---不要和陌生人说话 (Don't talk to the strangers). It is about family violence. The husband abuses his wife at home. The wife can't bear this so she escapes. His husband tries his best to find his wife. Finally, he finds her and intends to kill her. I don't know if his conscience smites him. He eventually commits suicide with a handgun.

It is similar to Sleeping with the enemy.

Here is a screenshot of that TV play.

Horrible! I have watched 不要和陌生人说话. Everytime he beats her, he regrets quickly and promises that he will never do it again. However, he always breaks his promise. He is abnormal.
