GUEST11862 Hi. I'm thinking of moving to Shenzhen with my three kids next year. Can anyone recommend schools with good quality and affordable tuition fees? I have a child entering grade7, one grade 1.

GUEST77034 I would recommend you stay as far away from the Shenzhen Nanshan Bilingual School as possible.
The Director wants only your money. He does not care about the children or the education the children receive. It is very unorganized. They cannot keep foreign teachers because of the way they treat people. I have seen students treated improperly. Just stay away and if you have more questions, check out the posts on Shenzhen Party.

GUESTGUEST 7426 Hi,
I am thinking of taking a job in Shenzhen - I have three kids - 10, 14, and 16. I'd like to find an alternative school, or an arts focused, or Moetessori or Waldorf type situation for them. The research I've done tells me that tuition in the regular int'l schools is too high for my budget (although I'm haggling for a school allowance), and not in sync with my philosophy on education. What is available in the alternative sector? Also, how easy is it to obtain tutors (as an alternative).
Thanks for your help!

GUEST32513 Shenzhen Nanshan Bilingual School is not the best. You should talk with people who have worked their and student who have attended. then you will know the truth about it!!!!! The school is one of the worst in China.

GUEST35214 DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO NANSHAN BILINGUAL SCHOOL!!!!! This school does not care about education, the curriculum or the facilities. It is the dirtiest, most ridiculous joke of a school I have ever encountered in all my years of living in China. The school is only interested in money and has absolutely no desire to improve the students' knowledge. I have never met a teacher, student or recruiter who can, in good conscious, recommend this school to anyone who is serious about learning. Of the thousands of students attending this school only about 4% speak English and 80-90% of all classes are conducted in Chinese. This is in no way an international school nor is it bilingual. The facilities are worse than a Thai prison and the science labs and computer labs are using equipment from 20 years ago. There are no practical labs and if a student (and/or their parents) pay enough money the student can attain any grade they so desire. The grades, transcripts and university statistics are all fabricated. Please do your children a favor and DO NOT send them to this school.
