Edible bird’s nest, abalone, shark’s fin, sea-cucumber, lobster, tuna (or tunny?), Kobe beef, French goose liver and caviar, which do you think is the most delicious? Honestly, I can’t judge which the best is because I haven’t had some of them. But I do find a similarity among these dishes---they are all very expensive.

Most people believe that the most expensive is the most delicious. Thus, they usually spend a lot of money to eat the most expensive food on their own or with their families, friends, business partners etc.

As for you, do you think the most expensive is the most delicious?

Bird's nest, abalone, shark's fin, lobster, sea cucumber and tuna are not really expensive items because these can be found in cheaper versions (In Hatyai, Thailand for example, a bowl of bird's nest soup for four people is about 50RMB/250THB). Kobe beef, French goose liver and caviar are indeed expensive where most of these expensive items are served in fine dining or 5-star hotels. For me, most expensive doesn't mean most delicious but some rich people just don't know how to spend their wealth, even willing to pay USD10,000 just to overnight in 7-star hotel in Dubai. Anyway it's their money, and they can choose what they like.

The rich just wants to show they are rich when they eat the expensive food because they think that this is in accordance with their status.
