I caught a cold three days ago and haven't gotten over yet. And I found that I almost lost my appetite. Looking at my favourite food, I even don't want to pick it up. Did you have such experience before? What should I eat? Can somebody give me some suggestions?

I'm in the same position, I have the flu at the moment, I tend to try to eat something hot and spicy to make me sweat it out, soup is generally good, the important thing is to take plenty of fluids.
I hope you get better soon Cherry.

1) The old remedy is a tablespoon of honey with lemon. Wait for 20 minutes before drinking water (after taking that honey). Morning before breakfast and night. I am told that the best honey is Yemeni honey but any honey can do.
2) 10 pcs Dried red dates (minnan: ang chow), 10 pcs dried longan, mall piece of white fungus. Boil three cups of water with them until becomes one cup. Add rock sugar to taste. Drink while hot.
3) Try this for 3 days.

In old US movies mother always gives hot chicken soup if kid got flu.

My mother gave hot... yes, tea! With honey.

Nowadays I take dark rum with hot boiled water...ahhh...
Don´t know if it pushes the flu away, but I like to think it does.

Seriously, drinking hot helps. You don´t "catch cold", you just have got a virus or a bacteria. It doesn´t go away with some hocus-pocus, you will get better after your body has won the battle. If flu is caused by a bacteria, you can use antibiotics, but it is not recommended. Normal flu is beaten without it.

Cherry, why not try ginger soup? It is said that ginger soup can expel the cold away. By the way, I don't think eating some hot and spicy food is a good idea. When you catch a cold, better eat some blander food.

I suggested what works for me, if you try early enough in the cold symptoms it usually works, I'm feeling a lot better now.

A cold is a virus so nothing you eat will cure it or get rid of it. My suggestion.... just eat whatever takes your eye, whatever smells of looks good. your appetite will come back soon.

When I was young, I was always hoping that I could catch a cold. If I caught a cold, my mom would buy whatever I like to eat. What's more, I needn't go to school for several days. Good memories!

I am with Dave. You need to take some medicine. As for food, just take what you like.

GUESTHOMING ... if you do believe that you are catching cold,
start with putting on turtle neck sweeter; cover up your throat-increase temperature kille germs.
sour and hot soup, added more black pepper, will increase your body temperature, also kill germs.
