How to survive the economic crisis? Just give birth to a baby!

At present, many companies start to reduce their staff to survive the global economic crisis. This decision has made many employees panic, especially the female staffs. Many female staffs are afraid that they will be fired. In order not to be sacked, they have found out a way---getting pregnant and giving birth to a baby. According to Chinese labour law, the companies can't fire women staffs during pregnancy and lactation. Thus, many females decide to have their babies earlier.

Do you think it is a good way?

I don't think it is a good idea. If the company decides to sack you, you will be fired. The company can't fire women staffs during pregnancy and lactation. If they did, they would be fined and required to give compensation to the victims. Do you think what they will do, letting you stay and paying you 12 months wages or just giving some compensation?

i heard China, peer compettion is pretty fierce for fight for rice bowl. In Shanghai, there so many talents that corp implement harsh recruiting policy: speedy employees turnover to curb salary raise.

the country where i am now living is more socialism - it is not lawful to give sack to pregnant women when she intends to return. And the public corps look more like socialist stated owned, very slow. I used to work with one of them and was given a sack ( i don't think it's for my performance) by an old white woman supervisor who, honestly speaking, by our modern chinese internaltional level corp, is only qualified for office cleaner position according to her IQ and professional level!

Anyway, to give birth to survive the crisis is passive and not recommended. To be ready for hopping is possitive but it depends on your confidence and inner power. To get a sack is a good life experience if you are not old, The worst thing is to be fired within 5-10 before retirement age.

To be fired (sacked) with 2-5 ys. left before retirement tends to be a devious practice by corporations in order to save on pension expenses and that happens even in the best of times. Which is why at one point in time there was such a thing called unions.
