| Teaching English is the best job for the expats in China, especially those who are native English speakers. With proper tertiary education, they may land in teaching in government's educational establishments with high pay, while with less qualifications they still be able to teach in private institutions. In other fields? You will have stiff competitions with local graduates. From previous posts in TCG, securing a job in China is best by invitation, and not gate-crash. Good luck to you Jezz and I do hope and pray you will find a job soon, either in banking or perhaps in finance, but definitely not in teaching English. Wan |

| In my experience, pay is significantly higher in private universities than government ones. But so are the hassles! Private language pay quite well but you work much longer hours and there is greater risk of not getting paid, or not getting the bonus payment (aka international travel allowance). |
