Recently, McDonald and KFC have offered “valuable lunches” and “special set lunches” to the customers. More importantly, the prices have both gone down 32% and 35%. In the past, what I had heard most was that KFC and McDonald kept raising the prices. What’s wrong with them? Why do they suddenly cut the prices? Actually, McDonald and KFC didn’t admit that they were cutting the prices. They just said that they gave much more benefits to their customers. Cutting by 32%, the prices set by McDonald is almost the same as it was ten years ago. Can’t believe it! As for the real reason, the insiders said that it was because of the global financial crisis. McDonald and KFC hope that cutting prices can bring them more customers. The report also says that the catering industry has been greatly affected by the financial crisis. In Shenzhen, about 5 percent luxurious hotels and restaurants have been closed.

In SZ and HK probably due to recent outbreak of H5N1? Maybe! That's why I have not heard McDonald and KFC in other cities lower the prices.

"The report also says that the catering industry has been greatly affected by the financial crisis. In Shenzhen, about 5 percent luxurious hotels and restaurants have been closed" HK is culling thousands of chicken, and really affected the catering industry that relates with poultry in its menu. SZ being a border city is also affected. Perhaps not really because of global financial crisis. Wan
