I have just finished packing my bags and am off to China, will be with my lovely lady travelling Guangdong, Hunan and Hubei.
Made a decision that this time no laptop, just the 2 of us and my cameras.

So I will be offline for about a month, assuming I come back when I should.
So, dont you all go missing me now, dont get emotional over it, I will be back, I promise.

PS, xin nian kuai le, Happy new year to you all

Went to Zhangjiajie at the start and our guide got us lost in the forest on the way down and we didnt get rescued until nearly 11pm, I slipped and fell 4 times, did a fair bit of damage to my body (couldnt walk for 2 days). we had to call police and rescue team to come and find us in the vast forest.
After that everything got better, went to some lovely places, met my gfs family and we all got on well. They liked the gifts I took.
We went around Hunan and Hubei together and the final week when she was working I spent my time in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Zhuhai, of course making sure I was back each day to cook for her when she got home.

Dave, I don’t suppose anyone managed to capture you fall on film by any chance.
I hope you told the rescue team (how embarrassing is that!) that you were a Yank or something.
Welcome back. LOL.
Dodger.

Really an adventurous trip, Dave. Glad to hear you are ok now. Don't forget to let us see your brilliant photos.

Come on Dodger, obviously it wasnt filmed or I would be famous online by now, with whole world laughing. It is fair to say that being a big guy I went down like an elephant. Manged to twist one ankle, bash both knees, cut legs, jeans torn to shreads and when I landed on a rock it went into my side, hurt my kidney.
Still have the pain and bruises now nearly 3 weeks later.

Bad news that there was no video (£250 on You've Been Framed) but you did keep the shutter pressed on your DSLR? Maybe the continuous images can be strung together to make an animated sequence of your fall. I think this is called POV now. Could be a money earner ;o)
