guest19349 I really wanna visit there using this May hoilday, but there are so many negativity about it, my friend simply do not agree to come along... :(

Friend's went at Christmas. I don;t think you have to worry too much unless you plan to travel in the remote south

Better stay away from BKK for a few days, but Chiang Mai is OK

Thaksin's supporters are still not happy (although he has a Nicaraguan passport now) and may make another protest at the Victory Monument. Prior to bloody riot, I was in Bangkok in early April and I was lucky to go out without any mishap.

Mr Abhisit said Bangkok may remain under emergency for another week after an attempted political assassination raised fears of further unrest. Although Bangkok is under the state of emergency but there is no curfew and people keep on with their daily lives. There are still many foreigners and visitors in Bangkok. Except the three troubled provinces in the south, other places in Thailand are very peaceful, anytime. Probably May is OK for you to visit Bangkok.
