![]() | China will installed filtering software on all computers sold in China from July 1, according to the State Council Information Office. Chinese authority said that the software is designed to filter pornography on the Internet and the nationwide move to protect the younsters from Internet pornography and violence. However, some western media reported that the filter softwares are kind of spyware. The authority said the filter is not advanced enough to act on as software. Putting aside all the diverted opinions, I do think it is a good move for Chinese parents who are concerned with the conten with the unhealthy (pornography) content spreading throughout the Internet. Last year, the Hong Kong movie star, Edison Chen (陈冠希)took sex photos with female celebs in Kong. The "Sex Photos" were released and spreaded quickly on the Internet. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, almost 90% of school kids have seen the erotic "Sex Photos" on the Internet. IIt has very negative influence on young kids. What do you think about the new move to intall filtering softwares on all computers sold in China? Have you already installed some filtering softwares on your personal computers to protect your children from the Internet pornorgraphy, violence and other unhealthy content? ![]() |

![]() | "And how easily can it be removed or circumvented???? " Jab, this can´t be the reason to say no to the software. Parents buy beer to their kids, because "they would get it from somewhere anyway"... In this hippocrate world all must be allowed, because if not, then the civil rights would be in danger. Today at schools is taught that homosexualism is normal. Finnish parliament just made a law which allowes a homosexual to adopt his/her partners child. If a 15 year old girl is bregnant, health care people are not allowed to inform her parents without her permit. It would violate her rights, you know... And much more... I feel the world is going down because of this kind of thinking. I don´t mean the world needs censorship, but the attitude should be no for porno, no for all drugs and so on. So, I partly aggree with that software, although I feel there might be some better ways to do something. "You do have to consider what other purpose this move will serve? " Well, must say you ask a right question. Carlos |

![]() | The software is called ' Green Dam". It is said that the software is imported from USA. American computer experts have said that "Green Dam" software contains serious security vulnerabilities due to programming errors. The experts said: Once Green Dam is installed, any web site the user visits can exploit these problems to take control of the computer. This could allow malicious sites to steal private data, send spam, or enlist the computer in a botnet. In addition, we found vulnerabilities in the way Green Dam processes blacklist updates that could allow the software makers or others to install malicious code during the update process.
