I will be going to Shenzhen on Dec 11-16, basically I will have four days to know Shenzhen, and probably Guangzhou. In the morning of 12/16 I will depart to Kuala Lumpur. If there is anyone that could shed some lights and share with me the beauty of these two cities, I would appreciate it very much. If I may ask, is there any Muslim community for me to meet? Thank you. Azizah Abdullah

Depends on what you like to do or see. Both are concrete cities although I found plenty of places to see when I was there. Also, each time I go back I still find more. In Guangzhou I think a wander around Shamian Island is good and there are some great restaurants there, cross over the road to see Qingping market, it is a truly unique place that you need an open mind to walk around. In Shenzhen I liked Splendid China, it has a miniature version of the famous places in China and a small ethnic community. I also spent some time in the museum area of the city, great architecture. There are lots of photos of both places on my website, maybe you can find some ideas there. www.dcolman.com

Dear Davec and Lingy, thank you very much for your recommendations and advice. I understand four days are not enough but surely it will not be my first at my last. I have read some posts from TCG as well as by reading some articles. I have noted a few Muslim restaurants in Huanshi Zhong Lu area in Guangzhou and Muslim Hotel in Luohu. Knowing through written pages is not the same as looking with my own eyes. It is my first and maiden journey to China. I also wish to visit the infamous Guangta Mosque. Thank you Azizah

There is a Muslim Hotel in Wen Jin Nan Lu. A lot of Muslim restaurants around there, real restaurants not just la mian shops. From the Bao'an airport you may take shuttle bus K568 to Luohu Coach Terminal at RMB20 per person. From there you take bus either no. 83 or 97 that stops at Wan Jin Nan Lu that costs only RMB2. You need to cross the road to the hotel. Have a nice trip Wan
