 | Hi guys, I read the thread about help needed and I found so many people get problem with things like that. I'm sorry to hear it and want to give your some advice. I have a friend who work for a company which run web shops. They sell fake things to English-speaking people. Her boss changes the website very often, once round 20 days. They try to make foreigners send their money in advance, send them the fake things with a low quality, then close the shop and change into another one. Lots of people are cheated and lose their money. I think it's terrible. So if anyone want to buy anything online, be careful as much as you can. And don't always trust what people have told you. When you travel China and want to get some decoration, please think twice, esp. when you are on the street, not in some formal shops. |

| GUEST17197 | You brought up excellent points. Internet shopping may be convenient, but it is full of flaws and dangerous. Consumers have no protection, no recourse, therefore "buyer beware". I think that the only safe thing to buy on line is airline tickets, from the airlines' websites. I've had no problems there. |

| Well... there might be some other options other than just airplane tickets... The only thing which would help is the carefulness... ANd maybe good lcuk^-^ |

| When I'm in China, sometimes I buy things from taobao.com with the help from the local Chinese. The goods will be sent to the hotel, and once we are satisfied we'll inform taobao and the person in- charge will release the money to the company that provides the merchandise. So far I have no problem with taobao.com. Wan |

| well.. most of the time to get things on taobao is ok.. only problem is the quality... Sometimes when I get things there, I would get either a fake one or a lower quality one as I was told... So kind of losing the interests on buying things on the web... |
