GUESTESPART First I want to say sorry if I offend someone.
In my oppinion maybe sunwukong & hanuman is the same. Maybe when budhist's priests or Xuanzang spread new religion to china, to make peoples attracted/like their teaching, they compose/write stories about gods & goddess base on hindu mythology gods & goddess.
Both are monkey, and have powerful magic, and have unique characters and they have kindness in their heart.
If anyone knows more, please tell. Thank you & God blessed you all.

GUEST51112 Lord Hanuman or Son wukong were the same, according to Sanatans (Hinduism) scriptures , Hanuman was immortal ("Cheeranjivi") , who traveled to meditate in mountains after completion of his duty to Lord Rama, and after this Lord Hanuman traveled to manywhere thus also called son wukong (the monkey king) in China, with other name in Mayan culture and others in other places.

GUESTVOZZY Hanuman was the son of Vayu the god of the wind, and Anjana, a celestial nymph. Hanuman was born as a monkey due to a curse put on his mother. When he was a child Hanuman saw the sun and thought it was a large yellow ball. He decided to try and obtain it in order to play with it. Indra, the king of gods, saw Hanuman leap into the sky and wanted to stop him. He did this by throwing a weapon at him. [the Vajra (thunderbolt)] Hanuman’s enraged father decided to go on a strike until the one who hurt his child was punished. He went on strike, removing all wind breeze and eventually air from the world. the other gods understood that this would ruin the world as the people and animals were dying. they offered the baby a multitude of boons. Brahma said that no weapon would ever hurt Hanuman and that he would be able to change his form at will and travel wherever he chose. Indra’s boon was that the Vajra would no longer hurt the child and that his body would be stronger than the weapon. Varuna, the god of the ocean, offered him protection from water. Agni, the god of fire, blessed him with immunity to fire. Surya, the sun god, gave him the power to change the size of his body. Yama blessed him with good health and immortality. Vishwakarma, the divine architect, offered a boon that Hanuman would be safe from all objects of his creation. With all these boons, Hanuman became a great warrior who played a crucial role in the Ramayan.

GUEST01238 The relationship between Buddhism and Hinduism is indeed analogous to other religious schisms like that between Protestant Christianity and Catholocism. Do we consider the deities of Protestants to be different from those of Catholics? No, it's obvious they are simply disagreeing perspectives on the same concepts. Likewise Hinduism and Buddhism are both attempts to understand the esoteric details of life in South and East Asia. To say that they are dissimilar is to look only at their differences, and indeed, is only one side of the discussion pertaining to them. They are clearly related in a historical sense, in that both in their modern form share a common past. In that regard, I think it is 100% obvious and clear that Hanuman, being the one that predates the other, was the "original" deity/avatar/what-have-you, while Wu Kong was the result of a member of the Ming culture attempting to adopt and nationalize that story.
