You can choose both by train or by bus. The land distance between Yiwu and Hangzhou is 139km, less than 2 hours journey. The hard seat train tickets will cost you RMB22 and RMB34 for the soft seat.

There're no direct buses or trains from Hong Kong to Yiwu.
Your best overland option would be to go by train to Shenzhen, then train T212 to Yiwu. This leaves Shenzhen at 1306 and arrives in Yiwu at 0407, journey time 15h01min. Distance is 1372 km. Fare is 170 RMB for hard seat (not recommended for a journey this long); 290/300/309 RMB for hard sleeper upper/middle/lower bunk; 452/472 RMB for soft sleeper upper/lower bunk.

Please, it's Yiwu not Yuwi!
Best would be to catch a direct bus from Hangzhou airport to Yiwu, you don't need to go to downtown Hangzhou to get the train. Hourly departures from 1030 to 2130, fare 60 RMB.

"Best" is relative. What time is your flight departing from Pudong airport? How many of you are there and how much luggage do you have?

The last bus for Hangzhou airport -- Yiwu is at 2130. If your flight isn't delayed and you get out of baggage claim really fast (or even better, bring only carry-on luggage) then you should be able to make it in time.

If you arrive at Hangzhou airport at 1200, I don't think you'll be able to make it for D95 which leaves Hangzhou main train station at 1237, as it takes around an hour to go from Hangzhou airport to Hangzhou main train station in downtown Hangzhou. Better to take D665 (1437--1525). For the return, if your flight leaves Hangzhou airport at 1200, it would be advisable to arrive around 1000 for check-in. I would advise that you take T786/T787 (0738--0849) as there're no D trains that would fit your schedule.

If you've any more questions, please email directly to yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line, thanks.
