GUEST43192 Yes you can. I've brought several boxes of Nestle NAN into China, since it's quite expensive here.

Last December I brought with me 100kg of Coffee (10 cartons) via Shenzhen for friends who were interested to sample the coffee powder (in sachets), and 6 X 3kg of Milo (in China Milo costs more than RMB80 per 3kg) wihout being stopped.

GUEST75185 My plane will arrive in Baiyun about 11:30 p.m. - too late to check into a hotel... Can I wait inside the airport terminal for 5-6 hours for the bus to Shenzhen?

I think they clear people out of the airport after the last flights have arrived. But you might want to check out the reviews here just in case: http://www.sleepinginairports.net/asia/guangzhou.htm
