Can you tell me the best way to manage money in China? Are there ATMs? Are we best to bring travelers checks? Is it the Yen?
Thanks!

Thank you so much. My reading did not at all say that so I'm very relieved.

ATM machines that take foreign cards are quite widely available in Shanghai, Beijing and other major cities. You didn't say where exactly you're going in China.
Also, inform your bank at home that you'll be travelling and using your ATM card in China so that they don't freeze it.
The Chinese currency is RMB (renminbi) and the unit is "yuan", not "yen" -- "yen" is for Japan!

Good to know. Thanks again. I am confused because the travel book I have says that the Yuan is the currency.

It's the same thing. As in, the yuan to RMB would be what the dollar is to USD. Does that help?
