I want to travel from Macau to Guangzhou on May 3 Monday. I would like to have some advice if I should go by air, bus or train. I'll be meeting friends in Macau on that day and will be ready to leave for Guangzhou by late afternoon or evening. I'll be staying in the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou on Monday night. I'm open to go by air, by bus or by train, whatever is easier. Thank you for responding.

"Easiest" is plane, but it's also the most expensive!
There's no train station in Macau or Zhuhai (across the border), so long-distance bus would be the most feasible option for most travellers.
However also bear in mind that 3/5 is the last day of the Labour Day holidays in mainland China.

Thank you very much for the advice. I think I would prefer to go by plan. I found plane ticket from one website flying from Macau to Guangzhou for US$132 one way. I don't know if that is real or not because all other websites showing one stop between Macau and Guangzhou and takes about 5 hours to get there. The plane ticket is over $300.

If I want to go by bus, how long is the bus ride? Is there website for the bus company to check bus schedule? Thanks again.

Sorry, looks like I was wrong re direct flight Macau -- Guangzhou, I was thinking of Hong Kong -- Guangzhou. Would that be an option for you? You could easily go from Macau to Hong Kong airport by ferry.
I think the bus would take about 2-2.5 hours from Zhuhai Gongbei's long-distance bus station, just across the border from Macau. There're plenty of departures, where are you going in Guangzhou?
If you've any more queries, email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username (eg CelinaLung) in the subject line.

The ticket price varies. Last Dec 19 I went to Xiamen from Shenzhen only for RMB650 one way. So I think USD132 is correct. Anyway, from Gongbei to Guangzhou takes less than 3 hrs by bus for RMB80. After all the bus ticket from MIA to the border is only MOP3.30. Both ways are still convenient, either by flight or bus. If by flight you still have to wait for your next flight to Baiyun airport to Garden Hotel probably will take 3 hrs too (or more?).

Hi Ellyse, thanks for pointing it. No it's not a typo, it means she has to wait for the flight from Macau to Baiyun airport to garden hotel... only I didn't put a comma after the Garden Hotel as it is not needed and hope she understands.

If the comma is missing, that's still a typo...

"your next flight to Baiyun airport to Garden Hotel" --> it sounded like there was going to be a flight that ends at Garden Hotel, which doesn't make sense.

Perhaps this is my inability to understand English against a good English exponent like Ellyse and never my intention to start a polemic but just mere clarification as It will go on and on sine die. You need to understand the whole sentence where the subject is the journey and not the flight, If you look at my sentence, you will understand as it starts from MIA to Baiyun to Garden Hotel: "If by flight you still have to wait for your next flight to Baiyun airport to Garden Hotel probably will take 3 hrs too (or more?)" and I can add more "to", like to Beijing :Lu to Ximenkou... etc to inform what the enquirer needs. Does it mean from Beijing Lu there's a flight to Ximenkou?
