How many days for Guilin vs. Chongqing?

It seems to make sense to devote two whole days to a city if you're planning to visit and in my sample itinerary I devoted one full day to Guilin and 4 full days to Chongqing.

Despite being a big city guy would it make more sense to have 2 full days to Guilin and 3 full days to Chongqing or does the former plan seem alright?

Thanks to everyone who provides help to these "little" questions. :)

Usually it needs 2-3 days in Guilin.

Thanks, I'll talk your word for it. 2 days should be better than one. Plus I really want to see these karst mountains:

Skip Guilin and go straight to Yangshuo. If you are into photography, you will need weeks, not days.

Thanks Robert. Well I just purchased the domestic flights to allow two full days in Guilin. I'm not into photography but I will take pictures of whatever I think is cool. There is a Li River tour I saw online but it costs about $350. Not wiling to pay that much for a 2 day tour.

Guilin is city wheras Yangshuo is a small town. Many people speak English in Yangshuo. Ten minutes bike ride from Yangshuo and you are in the countryside. My advice, take the bus from Guilin to Yangshuo (about one hour/10 yuan) and hire a bike (20 yuan per day). The best part of the Li River can be viewed from Xingpin (45 minutes/7yuan from Yangshuo). The scene depicted on the 20 yuan note is from Xingpin and you can get far cheaper, and far better boat rides than from Guilin.

Hi Gloomy. Thanks for the welcome, but I am just passing through and thought I could help TEXAS80. I have had more than TEN trips to Yangshuo. It is almost my second home. I am in Australia at the moment but intend returning to Yangshuo again sometime soon.
