One Month in Guangzhou

Hello,
I am a 40 old male, will travel from the USA to stay month in Guangzhou for my first time ever to China...
I would like to attend a martial art classes for 2-3 hours daily, and I would like any recommendation in that matter.
Also, what the best suggestion for housing; should I stay in a hotel or there is another good alternative.
I could exchange my English or Arabic for your Chinese Language.
I live and work in Washington, USA and I am originally from Egypt.

There are lots of apartment/house rental Ads on this community (Ads board or Apartment/ House Rent Board). Check to see if you can find one that satisified you. I think it will be cheaper than hotels.

Which part of Guangzhou? I think there are 12 districts in GZ city. There are hotels without star ratings that you can find around RMB100-120 with internet connection. With hotel, you will be assured to have clean towels, room service, etc everyday. For longer stay, you can always negotiate.
