Puppy love is still a taboo in Chinese schools as well as a thorny issue for the school authorities and teachers. Many schools have taken a lot of measures to stop puppy love.

A school in Shunde, Guangdong Province issues several shocking regulations to deal with puppy love. According to the regulations, boys and girls can not be together without the presence of the third person. If the students are in need of help, better find your teacher or friends of the same sex. If the student had an emergency, he/she should get permission from his/her head teacher. In public places, boys and girls should keep distance from each other. Lastly, vulgar language is definitely forbidden.

Can these absurd regulations stop puppy love?

Why do all schools and parents think puppy love is bad? I am curious if the teachers and the parents experienced "puppy love".

"Puppy love" is no guilty.

Western research has shown that where classes are mixed sex, boys underperform (obviously distracted by other things). Maybe it is not puppy love but concentration that is the problem?

Gaffer, maybe we should build boys' school an girls' school again. Then puppy love and distraction will disappear forever.

Is it a good idea?

GUEST110 Many think that you cant concentrate on the school anymore if you think about girls (or boys) They want that students only study and dont think about other things. (i believe its impossible then at this age you naturally think about more then school) Then after school they say "NOW you have enough time" But the point is that the Boss doesnt want that you get distracted so you have to work overtime and more. So at the beginning you wont be able to really search for a partner.
Maybe around 25-27 you have a stable job, and "earned" yourself more free time then you can look for someone.
Of course you have only 1-3 years time (depends on when you started) to find a partner and marry him/her. (because you have to think about getting a baby before 30, its said to be better for the woman)
then you can give up your job (your husband have one) take care of the home with baby and then your life will be the same till your child moves out (somewhere between 23-28) because he wants to safe to buy an own "house"

at least its what i believe they think how it should be...

Did you mean students went there for love? I think if schools open for education then should stop every thing like "puppy love".
If teachers and parents had this experience it was also not good. I think this a system fault for coming education.

Atta, students go to schoold to learn about knowledge. But puppy love does exisit. What I am trying to say is to use some ways to deal with it, not using some extreme methods to suppress puppy love in school. If you can not deal with this issue carefully, more problems will happen.

I don't know what the definition of "puppy love" is in China but the problem in classrooms is usually that boys have the desire to "show off" and attract attention, thereby distracting the other members of the class from their studies. Even from a young age it is a natural part of growing up, but the older they get the more the girls enjoy it. However, when sexes are segregated the problem is diminished.

GUEST6506 Gaffer, what's your definition of puppy love?

Like you said, I did do something to attract a girl's attention when I was in middle school. Of course I didn't know what was love at that time. I just had a special feeling for her. Did you experience "puppy love"?

My definition of puppy love would be what in the west we call a crush on someone. That is the first person we think we are in love with. This could be a ridiculous situation like an attractive teacher (usually girls), or a beautiful but older girl who would laugh if she knew.
