guestCa23	My families and I (my parents, my sisters and I) are considering of traveling in {Lijiang,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/lijiang.htm} in Yunnan from January 4-10, 2011. It’s the first time we have come into China. My questions are: Do you think it is good to visit Lijiang in winter? Can we travel on our own? Or should we join a tour arranged by any travel agency? One more thing, how’s the weather will it be in Lijiang in January? Can anyone recommend us some nice but cheap accommodations in Lijiang?

It is a bit cold in Lijiang during that time. Since it is off-peak season, you may not meet too many tourists. If you come into China for the first time, I suggest you join a tour.
