| Hi, I've been looking at homestay options in Shanghai:http://www.homestayclub.com, http://www.homestayfinder.com, http://www.homestay.com.cn/ My desire is to find a family for 3 weeks between 7th of April and 28th of April this year. I'm a student, so would prefer to keep costs low and offer English lessons instead of payment (I've lived in London almost all my life, and am a native English speaker). A little about me. I've been taking Chinese evening classes since October, but my Mandarin is terrible, I hope to improve it! I also hope to improve my wei-chi (go), I'd like to think I'm learning that fast though! In Shanghai, I hope to meet and speak to every person, try every kind of food, and walk down every street. Thats very ambitious, but, I don't expect to achieve it, but, I'll enjoy trying. I love nightlife, I wish to experience that, but also, I really enjoy family-life, the experience of spending a lot of time with other people doing relatively everyday things. Check out my visit to Korea: www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~jss00/KoreaSite/index.htm I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer, I'm getting the feeling this is all a bit last minute :-) Kind Regards, Jaspreet |

| Hi Chinagirl, Thanks for your help, although, I just got a call from a friend in Shanghai, and it looks like she has managed to find me a place! Yay! Still, I definitely want to make friends from this forum. As soon as I am in Shanghai and I have a mobile phone, I will post my details here, so that we might meet up :-) Thanks, Jasp |
