LUCHIE,

Take [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/guangzhou/air/express-bus.htm]Guangzhou airport express bus[/tcgurl] line 1 at [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/guangzhou/airport.htm]Baiyun International Airport[/tcgurl] to get to Guangzhou CAAC Ticket Office (near to Guangzhou Railway Station). Then take D trains from Guangzhou to {Shenzhen,http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/shenzhen/}. When you arrive at Shenzhen Railway Station, get out and pass Luohu Border to Reach Hong Kong.

Airport express line 1 info:
Runtime: approx. 45 minutes
First Run/Final Run: 07:00 / the last flight of the day
Frequency: every 10~15 minutes
Ticket Fare: CNY16

For exact D train schedules, please check [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/guangzhou-schedule.htm]Guangzhou Trains[/tcgurl].

I am not sure if you have reserved any hotel in HK. You can take East Rail (Lo Wu(Luohu) to Hung Hom) in Kowloon. For your reference: [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/hotel/hong-kong-hotels.htm]Hong Kong Hotel[/tcgurl]

East Rail:
Runtime: approx. 43 minutes
Ticket fare: HK$33

In Hong Kong, you can visit Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Peak etc. For more info, please look at [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/hongkong/]Hong Kong Attractions[/tcgurl]. If you had decided where to go in Hong Kong, I may help you make an itinerary.

PS: here is another option for you (from Guangzhou to Hong Kong). You can take direct bus at some hotels like Guangzhou Huatai Hotel, Huahai Building, Hotel Canton, Yingbin Hotel, Guangzhou Hotel, New Tianhe Hotel, President Hotel.

There are many buses at Guangzhou Hotel. You may go there to take the bus.

Ticket price: CNY 100 (Guangzhou to Disneyland) CNY 120 (Guangzhou to Ocean Park) CNY 200 (Guangzhou to Hong Kong Airport).

Round trip (Guangzhou to Hong Kong) costs CNY 140.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Can we go directly from Guangzhou Airport to East Railway station to catch direct train to Hong Kong?

If so, do we need to prebook tickets?

Please advise frequency of direct trains and price per person.

Thanks

Take [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/guangzhou/air/shuttle-bus.htm]Guangzhou airport shuttle bus[/tcgurl] line 6A to get off at Tianhe Terminal of Guangzhou Airport (CITIC Plaza). Then take a taxi (around CNY 8) or walk around 740 meters to get to [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/guangzhou/east-railway-station.htm]Guangzhou East Railway Station[/tcgurl].

Runtime: 60 minutes
First Run/Final Run: 06:30 / the last flight arrival
Frequency: every 20 minutes
Ticket Fare: CNY20

If you take [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/hongkong/kowloon-guangzhou-train.htm]Kowloon-Guangdong Through Train[/tcgurl] at the usual time, you needn’t buy the tickets in advance. Jan. 1 is public holiday. I am not sure if the situation is the same as usual.

Please follow this link to get the train schedule:
http://www.it3.mtr.com.hk/B2C/frmScheduleGuangdong.asp?strLang=Eng

Ticket fare: HK$190 for first class and HK$ 230 for premium class.

If you want to book the ticket, please follow this link:

Tele-ticketing hotline: 852 2947 7888

Thank you again

Are we able to book tickets for Guangzhou - Kowloon train via website? The website mentions advance purchase tickets from 30 days? What does this mean?

If we book on line, where do we collect tickets?

Kind regards

Luchie

I am sorry, Luchie. I was back home during New Year's Holiday. It was late to answer your question. Did you manage your train tickets successfully?

GUESTLINDA Hello! We are going to Hongkong from Guangzhou on April 8, 2012 Sunday. We are a group of 19, 9 adults and 10 children. We will also have lots of luggages.

We plan to travel by train. But we heard that the situation at the Chinese customs is terrible, lots of people pushing and shoving. Is it true?

What is the best way to travel to Hongkong from Guangzhou? What is the best time to travel by train? Is it advisable for us to travel by train?

Please advise. Thank you

What ...

Two ways:
1. take D trains from Guangzhou to SHenzhen and then pass the Luohu border to reach HK. The Luohu Border is very busy.

2. You can take train directly from Guangzhou East Railway Station to Hung Hom. In this way, you won't queue up for too long to pass the border.

GUEST28421 I would take the metro from Guangzhou airport to Guangzhou East railway station. Then i would take a train from Guangzhou east to Shenzhen these are very frequent. The exit the train and cross the customs to Hong Kong. Very simple.

Metro takes 45mins, train to Shenzhen 1hour. Border 45mins. No need to book train, just book when you arrive

It is unwise to take train from Guangzhou to Disneyland in HK. There are direct buses but I am not sure you can catch it. The bus departs from Yingbin Hotel Guangzhou (广州迎宾馆), Guangzhou Hotel (广州宾馆) and Guangzhou President Hotel(总统大酒店).

Schedule: 07:10 (Yingbin Hotel), 07:20 (Guangzhou Hotel) and 07:50 (President Hotel).
Ticket: CNY 95.
Time: about 250 minutes.

If you come back to Guangzhou in the same day, I do not think that one day is enough for you to visit the Disneyland.
