Reuters reports that Tokyo Electric recruited temporary workers to stabilize the power plant after the disaster happened. These temporary workers were sent to the power plant without radiation meters and they didn’t have follow-up health screening after work. As a result, the workers may suffer from health risks and the future costs can not be estimated.

The experts said that Japan nuclear power plants have recruited temporary workers to do maintenance and repair jobs since the nuclear boom in 1970s. The workers were often paid in cash with little training.

Some doctors hope Japan’s government to set up a system of health monitoring for the thousands of workers streaming through Fukushima. Some also want to see a standard of care guaranteed.

What actions will Japan take?

PS: A few days ago, the IAEA went to Japan to investigate Fukushima nuclear incident and finally concluded that Fukushima nuclear incident was much worse than Chernobyl nuclear explosion. Some scientists even suggest IAEA should upgrade Fukushima nuclear disaster to “Article 8” beyond Chernobyl nuclear incident.

I believe that Tokyo Electric is not the first one to do this job. When the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occured, 500000 to 600000 miners were asked to dig an underground tunnel which led to the underground of the power plant. So they could build very thick concrete to stop the pullution. A documentary made by Discovery said that most of them didn't know how dangerous it was.

There are still unselfish people. Some old Japanese people have volunteered to repair the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant and they have prepared for the worst results.

Hey Jimmy it's good to see that you are taking interest in this subject.

We are in a very strange situation right now.

Immediately after the earthquake and tsunami there was wall-to-wall, daily news coverage of the catastrophe around the world.
It was impossible to escape news stories coming out almost every few hours.

Then all of a sudden, a couple of months ago, the news coverage stopped. It was almost overnight.

BUT THE RADIATION DISASTER DID NOT STOP!

There is still radioactive leakage into the air and ocean.
The situation is extremely dangerous.

But for some reason, there is almost a media 'blackout' on the subject. Some people have been posting stories and updates about the radiation leaks on the internet/Youtube and they have been removed by authorities.

The news reports just tell you what happened. Many things happen every day and they may not have time to follow up. I am very sorry for those workers who are sent to the power plant without being trained or told the danger they face.

The Tokyo Electric are too mean. They should have felt shamed after knowing those old Japanese volunteers volunteered to stop the radiation leakage.

The CEO and main leaders of Tokyo Electric should be sent to Fukushima nuclear power plant.
