Hi guys,

There is a group of us travelling to Beijing for 4/5 days in late July and are considering a sneaky trip to Tianjin to watch Tianjin Teda play Beijing Guoan in the football. My question is does anyone know if they train between these cities runs all night? Game is on at 9:30pm local time so i can see us needing a train back to Beijing after midnight. We fly out of Beijing at 8:45 the next morning so we can't stay overnight.

Any info would be a great help
Thanks Boss

Noticed on another site the train stops before midnight. If this is true can someone let me know what kind of price would a taxi back to the middle of Beijing cost us from Tianjin football stadium?

GUEST5233 You are lucky. I was on a trip from Beijing to Tianjin several days ago. The taxi driver told me that it would cost 500-600 rmb by taxi from Tianjin to Beijing. I do not know if they will charge you more at night.

yea there are some night trains, the first that you could take is at 3.03. Please use the TCG trains guide to research more details. (go to Home page first) But you should get tickets in advance...ie as soon as you arrive in bj.

You might be better to consider a car. A taxi from Tj -Bj will want a fee for a round trip so you might as well set out from Bj in a car. Ask at your hotel/hostel/ and travel agents... check prices.

For Tianjin taxi, those drivers waiting at the arrival (Tianjin Railway South Station) charge more than those outside the building.

GUESTANGIE Hello, Like to visit 古文化街,独乐寺,大悲禅院 in Tianjin, how far are these attractions from Tianjin railway station and what is the best way getting there?
Plan to take intercity train(express) from Beijing South to Tianjin(travelling time about 30 minutes) at around 8.30 am and return at 6pm on the same day, which train to take?
Are the above attrations located nearer to Tianjin or Tianjin South railway station?
Thank you.

GUEST58932 To Ancient Culture Street:
Walk to Platform C at the railway station and then take 便民9路 bus to Dongmalu (东马路) and then walk 130 meters to Ancient Culture Street. Or you can take a taxi. It costs about CNY 9.

To 大悲禅院:
Walk about 560 meters to 天津站后广场( the rear square of Tianjin Railway Station) to take No.607 bus and get off at 狮子林大街 (Shizilin Avenue), and change No.954 bus to get off at 世纪天乐(Shijitianle). Then walk about 230 meters to 大悲禅院.

Taxi: about CNY 11.

Well, I do not think you have time to visit 独乐寺 after you visit the above two places. It is located in Jixian, a county. It takes nearly three hours by bus and more than three hours by train from Tianjin to Jixian. Thus, you need a day to visit the temple.
