Da Qin means Xi'an China and Jing Jiao means Nestorianism, an earlier sect of Christianity. This tablet was unearthed in 1950s in the west suburbs of Xian by accident when the workers were building a factory. Then the people got to know that Christianity was introduced into Xian, China in the early Tang Dynasty (618 ...- 907) and the Tang government allowed the missionaries to propagate their faith in Xian, hence the popularity of Nestorianism at that time.
