So you won't take shortcut to make money?

Never think of making money, because I have my monthly salary though small but enough to support my family. Sometimes when I travel, I make some arrangements and itineraries should people want to join.

Wan, you must earn good salary. I guess you do not work in private corps, right?

Last Sunday, I went to one of the hypermarkets in Kuala Lumpur. We bought our weekly groceries, put in the shopping cart or trolley to the brim. I asked one of the friends from Shanghai that comes to visit Malaysia, how much she'd think we needed to pay. Automatically she said about RMB800 (RM400) at least. At the check-out counter, we paid RM170 (RMB340).

When I bought things in Walmart SZ, Lipton tea (50 sachets), one packet of Thai rice special grade and 10 pcs of (chicken) eggs already cost me RMB200.

No, Sunnydream, not really good salary but things here are affordable and cheaper than China. "Grade A" chicken eggs per tray of 30 cost less than RMB20. Yes, I don't work in private corp.

Wan,

I go to the supermarket every weekend. Each time, I spend around CNY 100. I usually buy some vegetables, pork and fruits. In recent years, the material price has gone up sharply. In 2008, a Chinese hamburger cost CNY 3. Today, it costs CNY 5, almost two times than 2008.

That I can see dear Sunnydream. Even simple la mian, in 2004 was RMB5 per bowl, then 6, now already RMB8 and some shops are selling at RMB10. Hotel charges higher of course. When I'm in China, I seldom cook as I stay in hotel after all it's only for 10 days for every visit. I'll try to find the cheapest hotel room available, usually not more than RMB150 per night when I'm alone. With "friends" sometimes no choice, I have to follow and be near them, usually not more than RMB250 for a room.

A bowl of la mian costs RMB 8? It is cheaper than that sold in my city. A bowl of noodles with fried leek and several small pieces of pork costs RMB 10.

Will the inflation occur soon? I am a bit worried.
