Recently, the official uniform of the US Olympic Delegation at London Olympics has been criticized because all the uniforms are ‘Made in China’. The US Olympic Committee has been forced to issue a notice, claiming ‘the uniform of the US Olympic Delegation is too late to change’. Meanwhile, the US Olympic Committee together with its sponsor promises that the Uniform of the US Olympic Delegation at 2014 Winter Olympics will be made in US.

Why do they hate ‘Made in China’? Harry Reid, House Minority Leader said that all uniforms should be burnt and remanufactured in US.

Well, a guy called Hoser suggests ‘Let us enter the house of the members of the Congress, find out all non US made things and then burn them down. Then we enter the garage and destroy all non American made cars, cellphones and ipads.’

What do you think of Made in China?

GUEST24207 "Made in China" is the inevitable result of western countries inability to compete against a cheaper labour force. As Chinese workers costs increase, (due to their living standards improving) the competition will reduce......until a country offering an even cheaper labour force emerges. The same thing has happened previously in Hong kong, Singapore and other Asian countries. However, is must be obvious in times of recession that the unemployed in western countries must resent their work moving away.

If I don't like, I don't buy, why hate?

I'm sure the uniform manufactured is according to its specifications. China has produced many things under licence such as Nokia, and other renowned products. I think it's just sentiments from certain quarters in the US that dislike everything about China. They are willing to give red carpets to dissidents from China in the name of human rights, freedom of speech and democracy - thus encroaching into others' territorial rights.

If they really hate Made in China, they should throw their iphone and ipad away and burn their Nike and Adidas clothes and shoes. Seriously, they pick up the wrong person to blame. They have to boycott those American companies who produce their products in China. It is them who build factories in China.

Nowadays, the labor cost in China is increasing. Some renowned companies have come to other Asian countries to build factories and produce their products. Probably, those who hate Made in China should hate Made in Thailand and other Asian countries.

They may resent but could they provide a better offer?

They resent because cheap Made in China things causes that many American lose jobs. But I doubt if they will pay more to get the same things made in the USA.

Maybe people think, produced in the US means better quality, because China is known as the producer of replicas. They forget that many electronic products today are produced in China. In Malaysia, I think most of household appliances, computers, etc. almost 80% are made in China.

Cheap things do not all mean with bad quality. Products like clothes, they are seasonal and it is not necessary to pay much money on them if I just plan to wear them for a summer.

Wan,

Made in USA might have better quality but the prices will be higher too. Many Chinese makers produce replicas. But some of them produce for the famous companies too.

Honestly? I think that there is a misunderstanding or false information. Do you know what waves it would have if the american team really responded like this to "made in China"?
Also i dont really think that it's "hate" it is that china is the opposing team, China was a strong player last time. So it's normal that there is some "trash talk" to increase self esteem and confidence. I m sure that the chinese team doesn't have much better things to say about other teams "officially"

Your name reminds me of Terence Hill, Nobody.
There's always tension and cold attitude between China and the US due to political reasons. China supports North Korea and Iran while the latter supports the South Korea and named the two countries that supported by China as as an axis of evil. The US openly supports Chinese dissidents and provides to some of them political asylum. Although sports shouldn't be mixed with political inclination and ideology but sometimes people tend to have emotion.
