![]() | Four years ago, he quitted Men’s 110-meter hurdle at Beijing Olympic Games under the gaze of 1.3 billion Chinese people because of hamstring injuries. Four years later, he fell down when he tried to cross the first hurdle in the preliminary of Men’s 110-meter hurdle at London Olympic Games. He left the track at first, but went back and hopped to the finish line on his left leg and gave a kiss to the hurdle. Before the heat began, he seemed relaxed but a faint smile flickered across his lips. Perhaps, he already knew what would happen to him but still tried to cross the hurdles. When he heard the shot from the starting pistol, he rushed out, clattered into the first hurdle and then sat on the track. I saw ‘1356’ again at his back. In 2008, he had 1356 as his back number. Someone made fun of him and said that he 1.3 billion people from 56 nationalities wished that he could win. In London, he got the same back number. What a coincidence! 1.3 billion Chinese people from 56 nationalities must be surprised when he fell down. Perhaps, it’s time to say goodbye. His kiss to the hurdle means that he may not appear in 110-meter hurdle again. PS: The latest report says that Liu Xiang might have ruptured his Achilles tendon. ![]() |

![]() | Previous reports said that Liu was injured before London Olympics. Before he participated in the heat, many Chinese reports began to say that Liu's injury was a bit serious. If his injury was really bad, why didn't he withdraw before the Men's 110-meter hurdle? |

![]() | I do not know if it is true. It is said that someone has ordered Liu Xiang to win the gold medal at the London Olympics because Liu Xiang claimed Diamond League title in Eugene. He clocked at 12.87 seconds. Why did he suddenly get injured before the London Olympics? It is still a mystery. |

![]() | I think it's time for Liu Xiang to leave. He has made great achievements but I really doubt if he can return to his peak time. He didn't make it at Beijing and London Olympics. It is tragic but he needn't prove anything. Yao Ming and Phelps are two good examples. Choose an appropriate time to retire and start a new life. |
