Disqualified South Korean Badminton Players Banned from Matches for two years
Aug 15, 2012 01:52
South Korea Badminton Federation has announced that four disqualified badminton players at the London Olympics will be banned to participate in any domestic or international matches in next two years. Also, general coach and women’s double coach are deprived of their qualifications, which means that they can not coach any badminton player or club any more.

The coaches and badminton players still have a chance to appeal before August 21.

On the other hand, China hasn’t made any announcement regarding of their two disqualified badminton players. Li Yongbo, the general coach of China National Badminton Team, said that he would take his responsibility after the London Olympic Games. Yu Yang once implied that she wouldn’t play tennis any more. So far, we haven’t heard a word from Li Yongbo and Yu Yang.

It is estimated that Li Yongbo and his team won’t be punished because China has claimed all badminton gold medals.

I just read that Li Yongbo promised that Yu Yang wouldn't retire. "She is just 26 years old. She still has a chance to play at Rio Olympics and make achievements. In fact, Yu Yang wanted to retire before London Olympics. We finally persuaded her to play at London Olympics. ", Li said.

Yu Yang also responded "It's gone. I don't want to say anything more. At least, I won't retire before the next year's National Games." On the other hand, Li Yongbo said that he was willing to coach his team and play next two Olympic Games.

Now you can see how China dealt with those two badminton players and their coach. No one is punished and everything is gone.
