It is lucky day but someone may turn it into an unlucky day. Some people already crossed the line.

Two years ago, my colleague got married. We were invited to join his wedding ceremony. That day, the wedding car stopped about 500 meters from his home because the road was blocked. It was his neighbors who blocked the road. You know, the groom can’t get off the car to ask his neighbors to clear the road. Thus, his groomsman got off the car and gave cigarettes to his neighbors. Each of them got a box of cigarette which cost around CNY 20.

When the car stopped in front of home, the groom got off with his bride. But the bride was a bit angry because the gate was locked. No one knew who locked the door. They waited for nearly 15 minutes. Then a man came up. He said he could open the door but asked for CNY 100. The groom was unhappy but finally gave him CNY 100.

You can’t imagine how angry the groom and the bride were. When they passed through the gate, they found that the door was locked too. This time, he didn’t wait for anyone to open the door. He knocked the door heavily and shouted “Open the door! Otherwise, I will break the glass and open on my own.” People inside heard what the groom said and opened the door quickly.

After entering the room, the bride refused to change her clothes for the wedding ceremony because she was very angry with those people who locked the gate and the door. At last, someone persuaded her and then the wedding ceremony went on smoothly.

It doesn’t matter if you want to make fun of the groom and the bride but please do not cross the line and make them angry.

Different locality has different culture and tradition. In one locality the groom needs to pay to enter the house, and also pay another toll, to see the wife but it is done in a jovial mood and manner. Sometimes on behalf of the bride, someone will ask a riddle if the groom or his representative can't answer, he needs to pay the toll gate. The bride and the groom then will be united with a hearty meal.

I think it is ok to pay the toll gate, because they are friends and relatives of his bride. Wedding ceremony should be better with everybody joining in but never overdo it.
