Wan,

If a Malaysian girl doesn't get married when she reaches her marriageable age, will her neighbors and other people gossip about her or spread malicious rumors?

Generally, when do Malysian girls and boys get married?

My mom got married at the age of 15. Quite old in those days where a girl got married around 13 after one reached puberty. Now marrying age is 18 and above. Whether you're married or not married, rumour mongers and busybody neighbours will find enough topics to talk among them about you. Why listen to them when we're hungry they never provided us food? Nowadays, generally people get married at the ages of 24-28.

Now in China, the marriage law requires the female should be 20 and above. Generally, we are 22 when graduated from university. Not too many of them will get married for first few years after graduation. As I know, single girls of marriageable age now in China are mostly from 24-30.
