This April, several winners of previous Miss Bikini International Finals wore their unique bikini and performed at the news conference of 2012 Miss Bikini International Final. Their unique bikini combines the western style and traditional Chinese Peking Opera elements together.

The bikini girls look like the Peking Opera performers but nearly half-naked. The sponsor explains that they didn’t intentionally imitate and make fun of Pekng Opera. On contrary, they just show the world traditional Peking Opera.

What do you think? Is it necessary to promote Peking Opera this way?

People always like to change things and provide 1000 excuses. One day there will not be any originality anymore.

What if those girls sing Peking Opera in this way? Do you think it is creative?

It may be creative but loses its originality. The younger generation won't be able to understand the real culture and heritage.

The school and the parents should work together to let the children learn about their ancient culture and heritage like Peking Opera.

Today, some Chinese pop singers prefer to combine some traditional things into their songs. David Zee Tao, a Taiwan pop singer, once added Peking Opera elements into his song "Susan Shuo". It sounds nice.

It is a kind of promotion for Peking Opera, right?

Many a time, a composer loses fresh ideas and "steals" the famous old ones for a re-branding.

No wonder I feel that many songs have the similar tunes. I used to think that there was something wrong with my ears. Now I understand that they just steal something from other songs.
