Visa application problems due to name change
Mar 31, 2013 16:36
guest83177 I changed my name after I got married. I changed my driver's license, passport, etc. by submitting a marriage license as documentation.

However, because I dropped my middle name and used my maiden name as my middle name after the name change, this is causing problems with my China visa application. They are rejecting my application because my middle name is not part of the new name in my passport. I am told I need some documentation of name change, but the visa agency handling my application cannot tell me what exactly is needed. Does anyone know what I need to prove that my name has changed? I don't have an official name change document because I was able to change my name with just a marriage certificate.

Old name: <first name> <middle name> <maiden name>
New nae: <first name> <maiden name> <husband's last name>

In China, Chinese people who change their names can get certificates from the police station. The certificates can be used as hard evidence. Apparently, it's a different situation in your country.

GUEST15333 Did you attach your marriage certificate to your application?
