Hhe, I see that you are not familiar with businessmen. If you were a boss, would you talk business with your partner at the board rooms?

Here, most business negotiations are dine in meeting or board rooms, and we don't make business deals in restaurants. When I studied "Japanese Beyond Hi" the same modus operandi, restaurants are people to enjoy food but business needs to go to negotiation table. No wonder in China there are a few private rooms in the restaurants, they do business deaks too. Wan

Hehe, it is a strange cultural phenomenon in China. For me, I'd like to have dinner in the private room if possible. I don't want to be disturbed by other diners. You should know that Chinese people are very good at shouting in public. They talk loudly and never care about others. On the other hand, sometimes we talk about something private (not about business). It's good to keep others away in this situation.

In Beijing, My friends and I were ushered to a room that has several tables. Although we booked 2 tables but we did share with another group, although they are small in number, they made a lot of noise and drinking heavily. We didn't have good dinner at all. One friend who was then the President of one public universities, informed me later of his displeasure. Wan

Wan, I had the experiences of sharing tables with others at noodles restaurant. People didn't talk. They just made noise when they ate noodles, which made me think that they enjoyed noodles very much. But I thought its taste was normal. If I eat alone, I don't care where I eat. If I have dinner with friends, I'd like to have dinner in private rooms. We can't be disturbed by others and others won't be disturbed by us.
