Most Efficient Route To Visit China

With all things taken into consideration, what's the most efficient route to visit China?
-Rail
-Car
-Bus

Just planning a 3 week trip around the China and just wondering what the best option is for us. Will just be me and my mom. Looking at cost and time between destinations mainly.

GUEST6765 Trains are convenient and economical en cities in China. But it takes much more time than flight. In some remote places, buses are the only option. Long distance buses and trains costs almost the same

Aeroplane and train. Of course flight tickets are more expensive than train. The two modes of transport easier because you don't need translators to know your destination as each station or terminal has English words.
