Hong Kong Octopus Card for tourists
Nov 1, 2013 12:58
guest24215 I am planning to buy 1 Octopus Card for tourists ($150) for my 3 day visit to Hong Kong. Do I get unlimited travel within the city buses or trains or is there a credit limit on the card?

There is a credit limit. You can always put more money on the card when you buy it.

I've been looking into that card as well. The one you mentioned is the on loan card. $100 credit on it and $50 refundable as long as you're not owing anything. Every time you use it, the value of the service of each trip on train ,bus etc comes off the stored amount until you run out of credit. You can even use it at convenience stores or some restaurants that display a sign saying its accepted. Its a real smart card.
