Malaysians do give envelops too, during festivals. During Chinese New Year, red envelop. During Deepavali or Hindu festival, green o blue envelop, during Muslim celebrations, also with envelops. But of course not much. For my office, I would only give 10 Yuan each. It is not the amount but the thought that counts.

I remember that my parents gave me 10 yuan red envelopes when I was in primary school. Right now, a CNY 50 red envelope is not enough.
