GUEST13355 My opinion is that the local office of justice that mediated the case made a mistake in this case.
Even if the children did hit the old lady, maybe was an accident, children play a lot and many children do make bruises to the persons around them...this behavior is not to be encouraged ...yes a punishment could be given...but given to the children on the level of their understanding...why to pay the parents?
a punish like not to watch TV, not to play with the gadgets, not to meet friend for 2 weeks, etc...these are punishments for children that do bad things.
If the accident was provoked by an adult person also an appropriate punishment is required but only when there is enough evidence the person is to blame and the punishment should be accordingly with its income...if a punish a rich man with 3 $ the rich man will laugh...if a punish a poor family even 3$ could be an inconvenience...what to say about asking a lot of money?...
if the justice i not correct in appreciation and there is much injustice around the people...than the people will want to change the conditions, will go in a place with more social justice.
