Hey Cali, I didn't leave China with a bad impression at all. I will post a few of my diary notes soon, which will show just what i think about China. My problems were very small compared to the great times i had. I made many many good friends, i was given presents, people guided me around their cities (free), people paid for my food and let me sleep at their homes. I saw some of the most amazing things i'll ever see, and drank some of the cheapest beer in the world! I talk for days about the good things i experienced in China.

No, I never got robbed, scammed, nothing got stolen.... I took care and maybe I was lucky, but still I believe if you pay attention, like you should do on every trip wherever you go, China is a very safe country for travelling. Part of this is still because of the strict sanctions that follow any criminal offend. What do you think happens to a criminal who get caught in China? He wont get a suspended sentence and an probation officer to his side and in jail they dont have tv, gyms.....you will end up hacking stones somewhere very very cold;-)

To Gaz070:I really very happy to hear that China gave your a happy impression!I know the robbed, stolen and the other bad things were ineluctable. But I still very sad when the baddies do sth to the foreigners! They are selfish, there was no nation in their heart!I hated sb raise up the price when they sold sth to foreigners! ok,I looking forward to your notes of travelling in China,I will read it!

Damn, i replied twice i think. This new system doesn't work as well for me... Anyway, i agree with you ELCABRON, one thing China has right is their strict punishments for any criminals. A country with so many people, and such a wide wealth gap could be the recipe for disaster, but it's controlled very well in my opinion.

Hi,btw,I also agree with ELCABRON:-)

Foot note to the imbalance of men and women in China. How did this post get so off track. I've also been ripped off over transport, had kids try to pick my bags twice while locals kindly tipped me off. I've even hit a pick pocket trying it on with another passenger right under my nose on a bus. But lets face it this could happen to any one of us in any of our own countries. Its just that we stick out a little more here and there's also the perception that we have more money(not always the case) but we usually have cameras and equipment that is worth something too. And I bet most of us seldom us public transport at home. It's just a case of travelling as light and tight as possible. I use a change pouch so I seldom have to go to my main source of cash in public and when I'm in a crush one hand is always on my valuables. I've had older gentlemen on the street kindly advise me to keep my handbag which I use around town when not traveling, in front of me where I can see it. As a female who often travels solo here I usually feel pretty safe and I know that the average Chinese will help out if he can but I am very careful and wary especially in crowds and the seamier sides of cities that you so often find yourself in if you want to experience some reality. It happens everywhere

The direct outcome will be a large number of adult males could only marry much younger females. Another problem is the average lifespan of women in China is about 4 years longer than men.

I think the directly result is:if the man want to marry,it will become difficult!

And many women will suffer lonely old age ... :-(
