I just visited this section today. Simply amazing. It was a perfect day; 60 degrees F, sunny, and the fall colors were absolutely perfect. The wall was quite an adventure. I was all alone and found some extreme difficulty in some areas where the wall had collapsed and I had to vertically descend down the "cliff" of the wall. It was intense. I took Bus 916 from Dongzhimen and got off at the last stop, probably a mistake. I could not find the other bus service. I had to take a private car (not an official Taxi service) to the base of the wall. cost 80 Yuan. When I walked down the mountain after surviving the descend of the ruined wall, which was scary as hell, I magically stumbled upon a bus stop for Bus 936. I just followed the newly cemented road (more like a path) through this little village and got to the main road where the bust stop was. The bus took 1 hour to get back into town where I caught a 916 bus back to Beijing. Also, I think there may have been a Mickey D's in town. It is a decent size town. If anyone ever wants to visit the Great Wall for fall colors, do it late October.
