If you're taking a taxi for your "final step" then it would be much cheaper to start from the CAAC office, that would be only about 12-15 RMB, or maximum <20 RMB.
Journey time for airport shuttle no.2 (to CAAC office) would be about 1 hour.

the taxi will cost about 150 CNY or maybe more. I have taken the airport bus from the airport to near the raiway station. I stay at hotel within walking of railway station and the airport bus only costs 18 RMB a person. The bus number is the number 5 bus and it will take you right across from the railway station. I hope this helps.

The hotel shuttles have been discontinued, it seems.
I would suggest that you take airport shuttle no.3 to Xujiahui (18 RMB) -- note that this is NOT the final terminus -- and then a short taxi ride to your hotel.
The airport shuttle no.5 to Shanghai main train station will NOT be of use, as it's going in the wrong direction.

GUEST22560 I'll be in arriving into PVG Pudong June 14th from Atlanta. First time in China and would love help finding transportation from the airport to:

New Space - Time International Hotel Shanghai
Room 1408,NO.99 Huichuan Road, Changning District
Shanghai, 200051
China

That will be my base and want to visit the local attractions: Nanjing Rd. The Bund, The Peoples Square, Museums, Yuyuan Garden. etc.

Any suggestions Ellyse? Thanks!

Suggest that you take airport shuttle no.6 to its final terminus at Zhongshan Park, fare would be 20 RMB/pax. From there, your hotel should be walking distance.
If you've any more queries, please email me directly at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide RJetPilot" in the subject line, thanks!

I understand the convenience of taking the airport shuttle and it is a bit cheaper, but why pass up the Maglev? It sounds like Steve wants to take in all the sights and experiences of Shanghai and this is one of them.

If you live in Shanghai I think the more economical airport shuttle is a perfect fit. But for those who travel through Shanghai occasionally or only once in a lifetime, spending just a few extra yuan for the fun experience of it all is worth it. I thought it was, at least.

Apart from taxi, only the airport shuttle bus. Most convenient place to alight would be around Jing'an Temple.
