One of my classmates in college is working as a simultaneous interpreter in the UN in New York, great job,well paid, tough though.

Yes, Pinetree, there are people who can earn USD 100 and even more. But this is not an average situation, I believe.

The salary quoted for teachers is pretty much what a foreign English teacher will get paid in a University in China.

Most of the Chinese teachers in my University are paid around 2000RMB.

Yes,Teachers have more then 3 months holiday in one year,ENVY!!!

Yes, but they have no choice of dates for their holidays. Also their holidays are usually during the shoulder(new term I learnt today !) & peak seasons.
