I want to visit Shantou & Chaozhou in Sept. How's the weather at that time? Most probably I will go there via Guangzhou or HK. Which option is better? What's the best way for getting there? Thanks!!

I believe there is no direct flight from MY to Shantou. What about to Xiamen ? There are several ways to reach Shantou (ChaoZhou is part of SHantou) :- 1. via GZ/SZ 2. via Xiamen 3. via HK - then ferry. I think Sept should be still warm. Try end-Oct/Nov/ Dec.

You can get the train info here:) http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/index.htm Guangzhou -> Shantou Train No. Dep. Arr. Travel Time N755/N758 08:50 17:28 0d08h38m N762/N759 13:53 21:14 0d07h21m Guangzhou -> Chaozhou Train No. Dep. Arr. The summers here are long, running for about six months and temperatures can reach 35 degrees C(95F). The winters are much more bearable, not very cold, and temperatures rarely drop below 10 degrees C(50F).

By bus from either Shenzhen or Guangzhou. Accommodation can easily be found doing a google search for hotels or even wait until you arrive. Its' the wet season and it will be hot but what's new. For you it should be much the same as Vietnam

Thank you for your information. How long does it take by train and by bus? Do we need to order in advance or just come there and buy tickets? Does it operate all day or limited? Thanks.
