Hi everyone, Recently, I have read that a part of the Naxi group living in Lijiang still maintain a kind of marriage relation called 'walking' marriage. It is a vestige of a matrilineal clan. It's so interesting!

Walking marriage is a unique tradition for the Mosuo tribe which is a branch of Naxi group in Lijiang. It is a special marriage relation. The Mosuo women are the masters of the families and they will not live together with their husbands after marriage. Every night, the man will come to the woman’s room and leave in the next morning. Usually, the man has to live with his mother’s family for the whole lifetime. Of course, if they decide to break up with each other, both of the man and the woman have the right to find another lover. It is not allowed to have more than one lover at the same time.

Haha, Paul, there are no beers in the village. :}}} Anyway, as far as I know, there is a bar in the village. And the hostess is from a big city. She's in love with a local man and they opened the bar.

hmm... so are they all momma's boys? I wonder if those type of guys raised in matriarchal tribes are more attractive to the local girls because they have grew up close to women, or are they too effeminate?

No, they are not effeminate, but they might be quite 'lazy' cos women work in their society.
